To accept online card payments for your raffle, you can either:
- Connect your own Stripe payment processing account and receive payouts on an ongoing basis throughout the raffle; or
- Connect the RaffleTix Stripe payment processing account and receive a payout at the conclusion of the raffle (after RaffleTix has deducted the RaffleTix Platform Fee and applicable Stripe Payment Processing Fees)
In either case, you are responsible for paying the applicable Stripe Payment Processing Fees.
IMPORTANT: If you are seeking to connect your own Stripe payment processing account, please be aware that Stripe may reject your application if you cannot demonstrate your not-for-profit status.
RBA card surcharge ban begins 1 October 2026
The Reserve Bank of Australia has introduced changes that will ban card payment surcharges from 1 October 2026. From this date, raffle organisers will no longer be able to pass the Stripe Payment Processing Fees on to customers and will need to absorb these fees.
From 1 October 2026, Stripe charges 1.65% + $0.30 per transaction for domestic card payments. This includes Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. The Stripe pricing is shown here: https://stripe.com/au/pricing
